Call for Entries

Mobile Photography Contest & Exhibition

The Studio brings you the annual Mobile Photography Contest and Exhibition. Photos taken with your cell phone or mobile device may be emailed during the indicated weeks below, so mark your calendars now! Square format is preferred. Please ensure that your photos are clear, not pixelated and most importantly, creative!

September 7-13: The Great Outdoors
Snap a photo of your favorite scenic view, wildlife or plants.
September 14-20: People of Marion County
Snap a portrait of your favorite faces from friends, family or around town
September 21-27: Black and White
See the world through a different filter and snap a photo in Black and White
September 28-October 4: Pattern and Shape
Aim your cell phone at interesting patterns and shapes, natural or manmade.

Entries will be printed and hung in the museum's Preview Gallery. Our jurors will select the photos that best represent each category and awards will be given.

Exhibition: October 13-18, 2015
Awards and Exhibition Celebration: Tuesday, October 13, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The Studio

The Studio is the Appleton Museum of Art’s energetic group of young professionals, artists, and art enthusiasts who have a passion for art, culture, and design. The Appleton offers The Studio members unique and interactive programming, specifically designed for ages 21-39.

Become connected with other members who share your enthusiasm for the arts during art-inspired events, excursions, and programming. Serve as ambassadors for the Appleton, creating excitement and raising community awareness of the museum and its cultural offerings.

Expand your appreciation and knowledge of the Appleton’s art collections, in addition to learning more about art and culture on national and global levels, with a diverse array of workshops, lectures, trips, and tours specifically designed for ages 21-39.

SUPPORT THE ARTS

Participate in lively fundraising efforts that will support the addition of artwork to the museum’s permanent collection and provide funding for future Studio programming and events.


Membership in The Studio is your ticket to cultural adventure and knowledge. Come join us for interactive, multi-disciplinary programming that fosters intercultural dialogue in an artistic setting.

A one-year membership to The Studio is $35.00 and includes special access to members-only events, as well as all the benefits of being a part of the Appleton Museum of Art.

    The Studio Programming Committee will work with museum staff to plan The Studio events calendar and provide necessary outreach to new audiences.
