The Studio is the Appleton Museum of Art’s energetic group of young professionals, artists, and art enthusiasts who have a passion for art, culture, and design. The Appleton offers The Studio members unique and interactive programming, specifically designed for ages 21-39.

    First Saturday No Drawing Allowed

    Tour of the Harn Museum of Art, Gainesville

    February 28, 11 a.m.

    Meetup with The Studio for a special, docent-led tour of the Harn Museum of Art’s exhibition, Monet and American Impressionism. This show highlights 25 artists who launched a new way of painting in response to the influence of Monet and French Impressionism. We will also have a special tour of the rest of the museum, learning more about the building, their staff and how they prepare for new exhibitions. The tour will take approximately one and a half to two hours.

    Participants are asked to meet in Gainesville at the front entrance of the Harn Museum of Art at 10:45 a.m.

    Indian Miniatrure Painting

    Ceramics Painting Workshop

    March 5, 5:30-8 p.m.

    Get inspired by the Appleton's newest exhibition, A Treasury of Indian Miniature Paintings and paint your own piece of pottery! Take a brief tour of the exhibition with Appleton staff and then head to the new ARTLab to select from a variety of pottery pieces, with sample patterns and images available for reference. Artist Meaghan Chaney Gumpert will discuss glazing techniques and help you create your own Indian-inspired work of art.

    Light snacks, wine and other beverages will be provided. Workshop participants are asked to arrive as close to 5:30 p.m. as possible.

    $15 materials fee per individual
