Orchid ~ Objet Trouvé: South American Orchids by Alex Hirtz and Stig Dalström

Celebrating the blooming of spring, the Appleton presents this exhibit which illustrates orchids indigenous to South America through the work of two artists. Ecuadorian photographer Alex Hirtz pays tribute to the orchids of his native country through colossal color photos displayed as if they were hanging scrolls. Conversely, Stig Dalström presents intimate watercolor illustrations or “portraits” documenting rare Andean orchid species from Ecuador, Peru, Columbia, and Bolivia.
