Paintings by Eric de Vienne create a link among the Appleton’s spring exhibitions, not only in theme (floral still life) but also in media (oil on canvas) and as a contemporary Florida artist.
Eric de Vienne studied painting with Alphonse Roman in Brussels during the 1940s. After a life of scholarship and numerous publications on Sir Anthony Van Dyck, Peter Paul Rubens, and Brazilian artist Franz Post, Eric returned to painting. He will turn 93 years young in October.
