Can I Make A Difference?
How can we be sure the museum will be able to continue to provide this experience for our community? Many people think the cost of visitor admission and the revenue from membership dues cover the cost of operating a museum. The income from these sources only covers five percent of the annual expenditures of the Appleton Museum of Art.
The museum relies on many sources of revenue to provide our community with exhibitions and programming. One of these sources is donations from individuals in the community like you. Will you help as we continue to make the Appleton Museum of Art an accessible, relevant, innovative, world-class cultural center? Your gift to the Appleton Museum of Art will help care for our permanent collections and continue to provide world-class exhibits and exciting educational opportunities. Please consider a gift to the Appleton right now.
For gifts that will be made through wire transfer, please contact the College of Central Florida Foundation Finance Department at 352-873-5808 for our Depository Trust Company (DTC) number.
The Appleton And Our Community
The Appleton Museum of Art is our community's museum. Residents and visitors to our area have the opportunity to visit this cultural jewel for the simple pleasure and captivation of the art experience. But did you know that a visit to the Appleton Museum of Art can go far beyond personal enjoyment?
Visiting a museum creates enhanced empathy for other people and cultures, increases powers of observation and creates understanding of the world.
Having a museum in our community stimulates economic growth through employment, tax revenue and attraction of a high quality workforce. Museums enhance our student's academic performance by improving basic reading, mathematics skills and the entire cognitive process.
The Appleton also provides the community with opportunities to improve both mental and physical health, especially for the elderly, and helps to reduce anxiety for all. In addition, a community arts experience helps us identify as a community and improve our capacity for collective action. Social bonds are created among people who share arts experiences through reflection, expression of common values and community identity. The arts have the power to enrich lives that in turn make us better citizens.
