Contribute to the future of the Appleton Museum of Art by targeting your donation. Although general cash donations are always appreciated, there are other unique and creative ways to give.

Stickwork

The Appleton needs your support to bring internationally-acclaimed artist Patrick Dougherty to Marion County to design and build a site-specific sculpture from tree branches and saplings on the museum grounds over the course of three weeks in February 2016 in a project called Stickwork. In addition, drawings, video and photo documentation of his past projects will be on display in the museum from Jan. 16 to April 17, 2016, in an exhibition of the same name. An artist lecture is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 19, 2016.

Working closely with community members and museum staff, Dougherty will develop a sculptural concept that connects directly to Marion County and its natural surroundings. The artist will work alongside a team of community volunteers to create the multi-layered, ephemeral sculpture.

Several sponsorship levels are available, beginning at $2,500.

THE SCULPTURE GARDEN PROJECT

Currently in development, the Appleton’s Sculpture Walk and Garden will be a dynamic space with an engaging collection of large, sculptural works exhibited along a landscaped walkway, featuring scenic viewing areas and educational signage. An open-air pavilion will house a large seating area to accommodate visitors. The Sculpture Walk and Garden will create an inviting outdoor experience for guests, enhancing our status as an arts destination in Florida, and beyond.

We are currently fundraising for the project by offering $100 bricks (8x4in), $250 pavers (8x8in) and $2,000 benches that can be personally inscribed and placed in and along the garden walkway. Pay tribute to your passion for the visual arts, your time as a volunteer, a friend or family member, or commemorate a special occasion. Your generous support, in any amount, will make a true difference!

LOBBY STAIRCASE

Join the group of faithful Appleton patrons who have already so generously shown their support by making a charitable donation and leaving your mark on the museum. With a $1,000 gift to the Appleton Museum of Art, you will have the naming rights to one of the individual marble steps on one of two elegant staircases in the recently-renovated lobby. A brass plate installed on the step will designate your gift and can be customized with your name or to honor or memorialize someone specialto you.
