View MapJoin artist, author and educator Charles Eady in the auditorium to learn more about the work featured in his solo exhibition, “The Unscene South: Charles Eady Revisits History,” on view through January 28. Through documents like petitions, tax returns, pre-Civil War newspapers and court cases, Eady explores why more free Blacks lived in the South rather than the North — the findings are startling, revealing hidden freedoms stored in plain sight for centuries.
This event is free as part of Free First Saturday; no reservation needed.
Free First Saturdays are sponsored in part by Marion Cultural Alliance, National Endowment for the Arts and CAMPUS USA Credit Union.
