WELCOME TO THE APPLETON MUSEUM OF ART
I am honored to have the opportunity to start 2013 in my new position as director of the Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida. I am looking forward to bringing in new exhibitions and programs that will inspire, educate and engage visitors of all ages.
The Appleton Museum of Art is recognized throughout Florida and beyond as a vibrant cultural center because of its world class permanent collection, outstanding exhibitions, educational programs and year-round special events. As you explore this website, you will find details and listings on these activities as well as information on our collection of European, American and Contemporary art, plus Asian, African, Islamic and pre-Columbian artifacts and antiquities. We are also excited to be the first to present to the public New World Treasures: Artifacts from Hernando De Soto’s Florida Expedition. This remarkable exhibition features artifacts from De Soto’s travels through Marion County in August 1539 and will be at the Appleton through the end of 2013 in conjunction with the statewide Viva Florida 500 anniversary celebration.
Thank you for your interest, support and generosity. We hope to see you soon at Ocala’s Masterpiece!
Sincerely,
Cindi Morrison
Director
