August 27, 2026 5:00 pm - August 27, 2026 6:30 pm

August 27, 2026 5:00 pm - August 27, 2026 6:30 pm

The second event in our After Hours lecture series, Director’s Circle members are invited to join Museum Educator Hollis Mutch for a talk on maritime art from the permanent collection. Learn more about the Battle of Trafalgar, the decisive British Naval Victory during the Napoleonic Wars, through an examination of William Adolphus Knell’s painting and the miniature replica of the HMS Victory. Explore the artwork of Richard Brydges Beechey, Henry Scott, Montague Dawson, and the history of the British tea clipper, the Cutty Sark.
Like last time, we will meet in the café for light snacks and a glass of wine. You will be permitted to bring your wine into the auditorium. The talk will begin at 5:45 p.m.
This event is free, and open to Director’s Circle members. RSVP is required to Colleen Harper, harperc@cf.edu, or 352-291-4455, ext. 1831.
