The second event in our After Hours lecture series, Director’s Circle members are invited to join Museum Educator Hollis Mutch for a talk on maritime art from the permanent collection.
Begin in the café with charcuterie and a glass of wine, then join us in the auditorium at 5:30 p.m. Learn about the Battle of Trafalgar, the decisive British Naval Victory of the Napoleonic Wars, through an examination of William Adolphus Knell’s painting and a miniature model of the HMS Victory. Explore works by Richard Brydges Beechey, Henry Scott and Montague Dawson, as well as the history of the British tea clipper, Cutty Sark.
You will be permitted to bring your wine into the auditorium. The talk will begin at 5:45 p.m.
