Approaches: Abstract Art

“Approaches” is a special exhibition series that helps visitors build a deeper understanding of artistic styles, concepts and media. Drawn from the permanent collection, with additional work by Heather Dawn Batchelor, this installation focuses on Abstract Expressionism, a post-World War II movement known for energetic gestures, bold color and expression.

Each work is paired with a prompt inspired by Transformative Learning Theory, inviting visitors to slow down, reflect and consider new perspectives. There are no right or wrong answers — only opportunities for careful looking and discovery.

Opening August 29 in the Upper Preview Gallery.
