Artspace: Where Creativity Comes to Life!
The Appleton’s Artspace is a vibrant, hands-on makerspace designed for children and adults to explore, create and connect through art. With colorful activity stations inspired by the museum’s collection and the broader art world, visitors of all ages can enjoy playful, skill-building experiences in a fun and welcoming environment.
Paint a picture, play with magnetic shapes, read a book about an artist, scribble on our acrylic wall, or weave strips of fabric on our wooden loom — there’s something for every age and ability to enjoy! There’s even a toddler-friendly play area with soft blocks, puzzles and more.
The Artspace, supplies and activities are free for Appleton members and included with museum admission fee for nonmembers. Click here for museum admission fees, or visit our membership page to learn more about joining.
Artspace Hours:
Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sunday, noon-5 p.m.
The Artspace has been made possible through a generous donation by Daniel M. Kraus and Mary B. Kraus.

Artspace Rules
This is a place of fun and learning for all ages! To ensure it stays that way, we ask that you follow these rules:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult (18+). We ask that kids stay with their grown-ups at all times.
- Please avoid running, yelling, or disruptive behavior so everyone can enjoy their time.
- Use tools and materials with care so they stay in great shape for the next artist!
- Before you leave, help us tidy up by organizing your area, putting supplies back where they belong, and throwing away any trash.
- Explore, play, and create at your own pace — but please note that activities are used at your own risk.
- Shoes must remain on at all times in the museum and Artspace for everyone’s safety.
